Almost all transactions are subject to registration at the Land Registry.
The latest Land Registry Fee scale is as follows:

Search Insurance
We try to use search insurance wherever possible and most lenders will accept it. This saves a great deal of time and money (premium of £10 on mortgages up to £250,000 and £30 above that). However, there are some lenders who will not accept insurance and normal searches will have to be applied for. Allow an additional £200 in these circumstances.
