Martin Kaye Solicitors Team Take on Colour Run

Sam Azzopardi-Tudor

A team of runners at a leading West Midlands law firm took on a 5km Colour Run to raise money for a local charity.

The team from Martin Kaye Solicitors, who have offices in Shrewsbury, Telford and Wolverhampton, took on the fun, non-competitive race to raise money for one of their chosen charities, Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.

The team of six aimed to raise as much money for the region’s primary cancer charity as they could and the team included Solicitor Sian Wolstenholme, Chartered Legal Executive Sarah Mears, Marketing Executive Dan Stanley, Administration and Systems Assistant Emma Prescott, General Office Assistant Amna Fiaz Shah and Office Manager Sam Azzopardi-Tudor.

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund is one of Martin Kaye Solicitors’ chosen charities for 2023 and the charity’s Shrewsbury Colour Run is one of a number of events that the leading law firm will be taking on this year, as they are already planning a cycling challenge for the summer. The team successfully raised in excess of £300 at Colour Run, held on 1st April at Sansaw Estate, Hadnall.

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund exists to ensure local people from throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales can access the best cancer care locally – at the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The forty-four year old charity works to fund enhancements to cancer care and treatment, and to make life a little easier for those who are going through cancer, or watching loved ones go through it. The charity’s LiveLife Cancer Awareness Service has also been launched to help and support people in the wider community – helping to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of cancer and drive cancer prevention.

Emma Prescott, who combines her role as Administration and Systems Assistant Manager with being a Charity Organiser at Martin Kaye Solicitors, commented: “We had an amazing time at Colour Run and we’re looking forward to the next event that we have planned.  The Colour Run is an annual event that we have a lot of fun at and we were delighted to raise money for such a vital and wonderful cause”.

Helen Knight, Head of Fundraising at Lingen Davies, added: “The Colour Run is one of the highlights of our events calendar and thanks to the hard work and dedication of supporters and the team at Martin Kaye Solicitors, we have raised more than £40,000 this year to continue our vital work. Thank you to everybody who has supported the Martin Kaye Solicitors runners; we are grateful to have been selected as one of the firm’s chosen charities for 2023”.
